The time has come to get my fingers back on the keyboard. I’ve managed to avoid typing all along the summer in London, which by the way, everybody knows the summer here has nothing to do with what the rest of the world knows it for. Anyway, I managed to escape to the Argentine winter and get a bit of summer. Between a ski week in the Andes, and a few weeks in Buenos Aires, I got all the seasons of the year condensed into a short, but active month. This was where most of my photographing took place. The results will soon be seen (once I get films processed, scanned, printed, etc).
I’d like to recommend an easy summer reading, for those who feel the need to neglect the sudden arrival of winter, and the disappearance of autumn. A friend of mine passed it to me in Buenos Aires, and I feel it needs to be passed on as one of those book which ease your mind, while at the same time give you something valuable back. The author is Ryszard Kapuscinski <2> (RIP 22/01/2007), one of the greatest Polish journalists to have lived. The book I am talking about, “Un dia mas con vida” (“Another day of Life”), is a close account of the fall of Portuguese colonialism in Angola (1975). For those interested in war photojournalism, or war journalism, this book will open your mind into the human aspect of this profession. For those who are not interested in it, I specially recommend you read it, not only as a valuable historical chronicle, but as a humanizing experience.

Buena Tom! Segui con “Viajes con Herodoto”. Otro lindo para acceder en la tremenda historia de vida que representa Kapuscinski. “Another day of life” creo es mi favorito. Abrazo. Tomi
