Looking Toward Venice from Mazzorbo by Philip-Lorca diCorcia from the series Venice, 2011 / Photograph: Philip-Lorca diCorcia/Venice in Peril
This morning I was flicking through the guardian’s gallery Venice in Peril . I would normally not find myself stopping on one image as I did today, something I blame on internet galleries, but Phillip Lorca di Corcia’s photograph of Venice from Mazzorbo is highly evocative of Claud Monet’s painting Soleils Levant, a painting which I love (and I refuse to link to an image as the reproductions are disastrous online).
